FREE 30 Hours Childcare


What is it?

You may be able to get up to 30 hours a week of free early education and childcare, over at least 38 weeks of the year, for your 3 or 4 year old.

Eligibility Criteria

Working families may be eligible if they are earning the equivalent of 16 hours per week at minimum wage and not earning more than £100,000.

Where can I access my 30 hours?

You can access the 30 hours at a childminder, day nursery, pre-school or a nursery class/school, although not all providers will be able to offer the full 30 hours. You can take up your free entitlement in more than one setting.

How to apply?

Parents can check their eligibility through the governments Childcare Choices website www.childcarechoices.gov.uk as well as accessing details of existing childcare offers such as the 2 year funding, universal 15 hours for 3 and 4 year olds and the new tax free childcare scheme.
